This past Friday was Mother/ Daughter Day!!!!! It was so much fun, and I completely surprised my mom which is exactly what I wanted to do. She has had such a rough time lately since both of my Grandparents died, so I wanted to do something really special for her that would boost her spirits, she is not only my mom, but my best friend that I would do absolutely anything for. I also wanted to make it a point that at every new stop I would give her a different bible verse and a picture with loved ones to help her through her discouragement. God has played a huge part in my life in the past two years, and I have found so many answers through prayer and reading my bible, and I knew that God would lead me to the bible verses that would help her. I wanted her to know that everything was going to be okay, and knew this would be a good way to do it.
This morning we went and ate at our Friday morning Breakfast place (Stax’s Original), and before we got out of the car I handed her a picture of her and my dad when they went to Frankie's Fun Park and on the back was this:
Psalms 55:22: “ Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. ”
We ended up taking Logan to breakfast because mom was having withdrawals from him, and wanted to spend some quality time with her favorite grandson. lol which actually, worked out perfect because Christopher had a job interview at Pepsi **prayers for that please**Afterwards, we dropped Logan off and headed towards Woodruff Road… Mom had no clue where she was going! It was so fun to see her excitement and urge to find out where we were headed. I finally pulled up to Urban Nirvana and told her that for her first surprise of the day she will be getting an hour long massage from Hanna (who I recommend to everyone), but of course, before she got out of the car I gave her another picture, but this time of her and I from my wedding, the bible verse on the back was:
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Let me just go ahead and say, that I love Urban Nirvana! They have such a relaxing atmosphere and everyone there is just great! While my mom was back getting her massage I decided that I would try the Buff & Broze, which was incredible. They exfoliated my whole body, then I got into the shower and rinsed off, and afterwards she rubbed lotion all over my body that had a tint to it, so it was kind of like getting a spray tan/ but not really lol. It was so nice.
After our amazing time there, we left and had a small bite for lunch at Dukes Sandwhiches (YUM). The bible verse for our stop there was:
Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” The picture was of her and Logan from Easter.
We then headed off to our next surprise, where I took her to have a manicure and pedicure.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. The picture was of my mom and I back in the Summer I was pregnant.
We both had the deluxe pedicure and manicure, the only thing different was that it included the parrifin wax. We both did our nails a summer pink color and out we went to our next destination.
Next, we headed to Artistic Cutters where we saw Cynthia. who did our eyebrows. We both have bushy eyebrows so it was time for us to have them done.
After finishing there we realized that it was time for her to leave and pick my sister up from school and I needed to get back home to Logan, so that ended our Mother/Daughter day, but I left her with a picture of her and Logan at the beach and this bible verse.
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
We had such a wonderful time, and it was so nice spending time together like we use to before things got so hectic. She is definitely someone I look up to, and I most definitely hope that I can be half the mom that she was to me.
(Thank you to my wonderful friend Lesa, who let me borrow her camera over the weekend)
